SHAMPOO BARS are amazing, but I do have to say...
you do need to consistently use it for 1-2 weeks for your hair to adjust to natural soap. Some say they get a tacky feeling at first from using a bar shampoo, Well, I actually feel its from the buildup left over from your store bought shampoo. After a couple of weeks my hair felt like baby soft hair, manageable, shiny and very silky feeling. You must always rinse your hair in as cool to cold water, it help prevent frizzy hair.
Shampoo Bars will clean your hair without stripping the natural oils out of it - leaving it clean and refreshed. Use an Apple Cider vinegar after helps to restore the pH of the hair and close the cuticles, but its entirely up to you to use this or not. I use this rinse maybe once a week.
*Rinse Recipe * 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water is what I use* With soap being alkaline the vinegar being acidic they counter balance each other and leave the hair a lot shinier and easier to manage. You can add more water if needed. Work with it till you get the right mix
I have been making and using my own shampoo bars for a couple of months now and as well as my hair being shiny and easy to manage - I've heard they help with bad headaches - I use to really suffer - now I'm lucky to get a mild one occasionally - I'm sure it was all the chemicals in the shampoo and conditioners and colorants that was being absorbed into my scalp. Some people find it takes a few washes to get rid of the commercial gunk and get used to the new shampoo soap but it is worthwhile in the end! It only took me one try to KNOW I was not using commercial junk on my hair or skin if possible any longer. After a week of use I no longer have to wash my hair daily~ ITS NOT A OILY MESS ANYMORE!! YAY
These work well for dry hair, dandruff, and oily scalp, most hair types.
How To Use the shampoo bar:
1. Wet your hair and the Shampoo Bar.
2. You can either rub the bar between your hands to create some lather, or do as I do and rub the bar onto your hair. I usually start from front to back several times, then scrub & wash as normal.
3. I try to leave it alone for a couple of minutes then rinse with clean water.
4. I believe you should always use a apple cider vinegar rinse afterwards. They tell me its to close your hair cuticles. Your last rinse should be with water as cold as you can stand.
**HOW TO MAKE Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse: In a spray bottle mix 1 part ACV with 3 parts water, spray it all over your hair then rinse with cool clean water.
** Do not use any commercial conditioner.
Apple cider vinegar gently cleanses the scalp and maintains the PH balance of the hair, thus accelerating hair growth. Use the apple cider vinegar as a final rinse after shampoo to get healthy and shiny hair.
As you can tell Hand-Made Soaps are irregular shaped ....
and no two will be the same. Its just pure & simply beautiful to me.
